Kineret Ben Knaan serves as Director of Technical Services and Assessment at the University of Miami Libraries. She oversees the strategic direction and management of library staff responsible for acquiring, cataloging, and providing access to materials across formats, languages, and disciplines. Kineret plays a key role in negotiating new licensing agreements aligned with Sustainable Scholarship principles across all fields, including transformative and open-access agreements, and ensures the accessibility and discoverability of both owned and leased content.
Kineret also acts as the Subject Liaison for Judaic Studies, overseeing the development, curation, and promotion of Jewish Studies collections and resources. She serves as the primary liaison to the Sue and Leonard Miller Center for Contemporary Judaic Studies, working closely with its interdisciplinary faculty, programs, and students.
Before serving as the Director of Technical Services, Kineret was the Research and Assessment Librarian. In that role, she supported the Libraries' strategic goals by developing an assessment program and data-driven assessment activities related to services, collections, technology, and physical spaces.
Prior to joining the University of Miami, Kineret was the Acquisitions Librarian for Continuing Resources at Ben-Gurion University, Israel. She holds a Master's in Information Science from Bar-Ilan University, Israel, a Certificate in Business Analytics from Cornell University, and is a Microsoft Certified Data Analyst Associate. Kineret also has a B.A. and an M.A. in Art History from Tel Aviv University, Israel.
