Happy National Poetry Month!

Welcome to the UM Libraries National Poetry Month guide! National Poetry Month is an annual celebration of poetry held every April. First established by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, National Poetry Month highlights poetic voices and underscores the profound impact poetry can have. It is the world's largest literary celebration, bringing together people from all walks of life through a shared love of poetry.

From April 6th to the 10th, we will celebrate poets and poetry from all backgrounds and explore the significant contributions that poetry has made to the literary world through language, expression, and emotion. We have curated a guide that includes books, resources, and events. We hope you enjoy exploring this guide!
