Jay I. Kislak Collection
The Jay I. Kislak Collection of the Early Americas, Exploration and Navigation at the University of Miami Libraries is home to over 3,500 items including maps, rare books, manuscripts, zines, photographs, and pre-Columbian artefacts. At its inception in 2016, the collection had more than 2,300 items donated from the Kislak Foundation primarily relating to Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America, Mesoamerican archaeology, and Polar exploration. Today, the collection's breadth and interdisciplinarity offer multiple perspectives on hemispheric encounters and culture that span several centuries.
